Tailored solutions for the ENERGY MANAGEMENT in companies
Due to a new regulation of the DIN EN 50191/VDE 0104, Bals developed new solutions for the ENERGY MANAGEMENT in companies. According to the modified norm, non-stationary test systems that supply voltages which exceed the permissible contact voltage into electrical systems for test purposes must be equipped with an external safety device. As a result Bals developed a series of non-stationary test systems and measurement devices for industrial use. The products are characterized, not just by a high cost saving potential, but by their mobility and easy handling (plug & play).

Launch of the new robust Rubber distributor series MODBOX
The solid-rubber series MODBOX goes far beyond the ruggedness that you would normally expect from a power distributor, and does so even up to a protection rating of IP68. Thanks to the new, special rubber compound, an outstanding hardness grade of 99 Shore has been achieved! Launch of the MULTI-GRIP cable gland system
Low space requirements, simple handling, reliable function: The MULTI-GRIP cable gland system has fully convinced users around the world since its market launch in 2002.
The advantages of the space-saving and solid construction are obvious: there are no onion rings, thrust rings or internal strain relief. This greatly increases the available space in the device. The stripping length is increased by up to one third. The MULTI-GRIP cable gland easily adapts to nearly all cable variants and the permanent, injection moulded Rubber seal reliably protects the cable against the penetration of water, moisture or even dirt – top Bals quality on which the user can depend.

The second generation leads the company into the future
In 1999, Wolfgang Bals, son of Günter and Elisabeth Bals, took over the position as managing associate. After his graduation, Wolfgang Bals completed his apprenticeship in the family business as an industrial clerk, after a shortened period of time. Following up the apprenticeship and two years of practical experience in the sales department, Wolfgang Bals studied social sciences at the universities of Münster and Dortmund and finished the study in 1985 with a diploma. After seven years of successful work as a leading executive at Michelin, including three years in Germany and four years in France, he returned to his parents' business end of 1992. Due to his experiences abroad, he increased the export share from 12% up to 50% today.

World debut of the screwless connection technology QUICK-CONNECT
Fast, faster, QUICK-CONNECT: with the introduction of this screwless connection technology based on the Spring-clamp principle, Bals again set new standards. We were the first company to offer this reliable and timesaving innovation. The patented system, which has unbeatable advantages over previously used screw connections, quickly developed into the industry standard.

Bals is born...
1957 marks the birth of the Bals Elektrotechnik GmbH. The company was founded by Günter Bals and his wife Elisabeth Bals. In this year, first efforts by the federal government were made to regiment the truck transportation. That led to Günter Bals searching for a second mainstay, that eventually led to the foundation of the company Bals Elektrotechnik and the production of industrial plugs.

The beginning was a haulage company ...
In 1948, after finishing is apprenticeship as merchant's assistant in the construction company Mees in Altenhundem, Germany, Günter Bals first founded a haulage company. Since then, Günter Bals continuously worked as an independent entrepreneur. He initially built up his haulage company, which operated until the sixties with up to 14 trucks. Later on, the haulage company was given up completely, which supported the fund for investments for the plug production, especially in its early stages, to a significant extent.
